GlamMap is a geo-spatial visualization tool that allows users to visualize geo-referenced metadata of cultural heritage artifacts on an interactive, two-dimensional geographic map. The image on the left below, for example, shows the complete holdings of Trove, the national library of Australia. Every item is located at its place of publication and color-coded according to date of publication. Our interactive demo GlamMap Risse uses the publication records of over two centuries worth of logic books (1700-1940). See our paper and presentation at VALA 2014 for further details.
GlamMap easily extends to other types of geo-referenced humanities data. The image on the right below shows an adaptation of GlamMap for linguistic data from the Glottolog project. Please visit the interactive demo GlottoVis.

Currently GlamMap is being extended as part of the project 'Visual Analytics for the World’s Library Data' (CatVis) funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) in partnership with OCLC. OCLC and its member libraries cooperatively produce and maintain WorldCat, the largest online public access catalog (OPAC) in the world.
